Selingan Turtle Island Chalet - Sandakan, Sabah

Image
Selingan Turtle Island Chalet is located within Turtle Islands Park, and Crystal Quest Holidays is the only chalet operator on the island. All bookings must be made through them, and the package costs RM 972 for a two-day, one-night stay for two people. As my partner had some difficulty making the payment online, we were advised to pay in person (either by cash or card) at the main office near the jetty on the day of departure. To our pleasant surprise, we were only charged RM 700 for a two-day, one-night stay for two people due to a promotion. Please note that a conservative fee of RM 20 per adult is payable separately at the Sabah Parks office (via card only), which is located next to the Crystal Quest Holidays main office. To get to the jetty, guests can use Grab and search for Crystal Quest Sdn Bhd using the Waze pin location. The package includes chalet accommodation, meals (lunch, dinner, and breakfast), and boat transfers. Itinerary overview: Day 1: Sandakan - Selingan Islan...

De Leon Hotel - Lahad Datu, Sabah

Image
De Leon Hotel is located in Lahad Datu, about a 7-minute drive (1.4km) from Lahad Datu Airport, making it very convenient for airport access. We stayed for one night in a deluxe twin room, which included breakfast for two people. Lemongrass water was placed on a table in the lobby area as a welcome drink, but it was slightly sweet for our taste. The hotel has only two floors, and our room was on the second floor, directly in front of the lift. The lift can be used without an access card. The hotel has no gym or swimming pool, and overall facilities are limited. Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10am. The room does not come with a fridge or an in-room safe, but it does have coffee and tea-making facilities and two complimentary bottles of drinking water. The TV reception was fuzzy and limited to only six channels. The bed was quite hard, and there was only one pillow, which was uneven. Apart from that, the room was dimly lit. In the bathroom, the toilet roll was already half used, and ...

Borneo Rainforest Lodge is located in Danum Valley, one of the world's oldest rainforests. Their chalets consist of only 31 individual chalets with fans and en-suite toilets, with a maximum capacity of 60 people on a full-board basis every day. The journey from Lahad Datu to Danum Valley takes roughly two and a half hours drive along gravel roads. Since Borneo Rainforest Lodge is located inside the rainforest, the activities mainly focus on exploring the tropical jungle, such as jungle trekking, night safari/walks, river rafting, wildlife watching, and visiting the popular Danum Valley Canopy Walkway. They recently had a special promotion:  RM3,176 for three days and two nights for two people or  RM1,588 per adult for a twin-sharing jungle chalet that can accommodate up to three people. The package includes two breakfasts, three lunches, and two dinners (full board meals), return transfers from the Lahad Datu hotel or airport, entry permit & taxes for the conservation...
