Sandakan - Day 7 (Sandakan Town)

It's our last day here in Sandakan and before we checked out from  Livingston Hotel , we took a Grab ride to  Sim Sim Water Village. The water village is just 11 minutes drive (6.8km) from  Livingston Hotel . (Grab fare - RM 6). The Grab driver dropped us at Lorong H. We walked until the end, turned right and walked further up. Sim Sim 84 is on the left. It's a wooden house painted in green. This place is famous for its springy noodle and century egg dumplings. We ordered one bowl of springy noodle with fried pork and century egg dumplings. Their noodle texture is a bit hard for my liking but the century egg dumpling is nice. Fried pork tasted normal for me. My partner ordered "teh ping" (iced milk tea) which is slightly sweet but taste wise is okay. Total bill - RM 9.50 Sim Sim Water Village - Lorong H Sim Sim Water Village - Lorong H Sim Sim Water Village - Lorong H Sim Sim 84 Kitchen Restaurant ambience Teh ping (iced milk tea) and warm water Springy noodle with fr

Sandakan - Day 6 (Sandakan Town)

It's our 2nd last day to explore Sandakan food! So we got up a little early and had our brunch at Kedai Kopi Pin Wei. We took a Grab ride from  Livingston Hotel  to Kedai Kopi Pin Wei - 10 minutes drive (5.6km) (Grab fare - RM 5). This shop is famous for their deep fried pork big noodles. They have dry and soup version. We decided to try both but when the dry noodle came, it looks exactly like the soup version except lesser soup. Their homemade flat noodles are thick unlike Ipoh "hor fun" which has smooth and silky textures. Our noodles come with deep fried pork, you tiao (fried dough) and spring onions. The serving is quite small which is a good thing for us as we can try other food later. Chili is spicy and best eaten together with the fried pork. Overall, it's okay but not superb. I ordered Teh Madras (3 layer tea) made with evaporated milk which is nice and not too sweet.  Total bill - RM 16.80 Kedai Kopi Pin Wei Teh Madras and teh ping (iced milk tea) Chili sauce
