Simpang Mengayau Chalet - Kudat, Sabah

Simpang Mengayau Chalet is just 4 minutes walk from the Tip of Borneo. This is the closest chalet to the Tip of Borneo. There's 3 types of room - family house consist of 2 queen size bed, grouping house / couple room - one house with either 3 rooms or 4 rooms and dorm. We stayed in a couple room consists of 2 single beds, self controlled air-conditioning, TV which is not working (fuzzy channel) and coffee or tea making facilities. 

The condition of the room was simple and old with a musty smell. The bed was soft enough to allow you to sink into it. There's no soap and shampoo in the bathroom and we have to request it from the housekeeping. Besides that, drinking water is not provided. Basically, you have to either boil or bring your own drinking water there. Apart from that, toilet does not flush properly. Bathroom comes with cold or hot water and water pressure was great. However, temperature isn't hot enough unless you reduce the water pressure.

Our room is facing sea view but there's no phone coverage and internet access. We can only get a phone coverage at the Cafeteria area. Well, look on the bright side. We tend to spend most of our time online, checking our phone or Facebook, Watsapp and ignoring the loved one sitting right next to us. So, it's time to reclaim your real life! Time to put your smartphone away and spend some precious time with the person sitting next to you!

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
