Hard Rock Cafe - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

We were staying at Promenade Hotel the other day and decided to hang out at Hard Rock Cafe, Kota Kinabalu. The cafe is located at the Oceanus Waterfront Mall just opposite the hotel. We had late dinner, since earlier on we had our so called snacks at Kalamatas Resto'ba. So, here's what we ordered at Hard Rock Cafe, Kota Kinabalu:  

a) Their famous original legendary 10 oz burger - burger grilled medium well (unless you say otherwise) topped with smoked turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, golden fried onion rings, crisp lettuce and tomato, served on toasted butter bun with seasoned fries. Instead of seasoned fries we requested to change it to citrus coleslaw.

b) Smoked beef brisket - slow cooked beef brisket topped with hickory barbecue sauce and crispy onions on grilled sourdough bread, served with seasoned fries, cowboy beans and citrus coleslaw. We were not into fries lately, so I requested them to change the seasoned fries to mashed potatoes* instead.

c) Thick shakes - you may choose your choice of vanilla, chocolate or strawberry Haagen-Dazs ice cream. I choosed chocolate instead. :)

Both dishes were good. I just love the beef brisket. They were seriously tender and flavourful. Onions were good too. I couldn't finish the mashed potatoes as the portion was really huge. Besides, I prefer a creamier mashed potatoes. Chocolate shakes was ok but kinda expensive for me.

We waited for the live band and they started performing at 9.30pm. I really enjoy listening to live music bands. They sang songs from the 80's, 90's and the latest pop & rock songs. Love the music and environment. We stayed until the bar closes at 2am and the band played 45 min sets with 30 min break between each from 9.30pm till 2am.

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay.
