Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh - Klang

Image
One of my favourite bak kut teh shop in Klang is this Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh. Some called it the Taman Rashna Bak Kut Teh. This restaurant served both dry and soup version of bak kut teh during breakfast and lunch. We ordered 2 portions of the small bones (direct translation from hokkien - suay kut). Seems that this "suay kut" is located somewhere around the pork's leg. The meat was really tender. It came with fats as well (really big piece of fat!) and of course a small piece of bone. By the way, you get to choose your preferred cut meat when you placed your order. If you are not sure which part of the pork to order, just ask the staff. The clay pot soup version consists of meat, vegetables, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, beancurd and tau pok (deep-fat fried tofu). You can also choose to add on the enoki mushrooms or fish balls. My favourite and must add on is the fi...

Nosh - Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

Image
Nosh is located along the busy street of Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar. Looking for a parking lot in Telawi Street was a nightmare! We tried to search for a parking lot along the road but to no avail. Ended up we parked our car at the Bangsar Village shopping mall, just less than 5 minutes walk to Nosh. We were famished by the time we reached the restaurant, thanks to the traffic jam and limited parking lots. The restaurant was quite empty when we walked in. There were four signature quenchers on the menu and I decided to try the Summer Oasis which consists of raspberry puree, lychee syrup, pineapple juice and soda. The combination turned out to be so-so for me. Not too sweet but I still prefer the mango juice from the box. Four signature quenchers:  a) Honey suckle - Passionfruit puree, honey, orange juice and ginger ale b) Summer Oasis - Raspberry puree, lychee syrup, pineapple juice and soda c) Organic Nectarine - Peach puree, mango syrup and ool...

The day my best pal jumped out of a moving bus...

I was dining at T.G.I Friday's last weekend and I suddenly recalled a dramatic story that happened almost 20 years ago at the bus stop opposite Subang Parade. The memories flashed back when I was seated beside the window, facing the bus stop...   Back in my highschool years, one of my friends invited us for her birthday celebration at Kenny Rogers, Subang Parade. It was our first outing together and the first time we took the public transport together. The journey by bus took us around half an hour to reached our destination. We had a great time together and enjoyed a lot. Another friend of mine Kim, even shopped and bought her favourite Body Shop product. After we had our lunch, we decided to call it a day and head to the bus stop opposite Subang Parade. We sat there with no idea when the bus will arrive. Finally the bus arrived and all of us got on the bus. When the bus started moving, we heard Kim screamed out loud t...

T.G.I Friday's - Subang Parade

Image
My all time favourite Mocha Mud Pie dessert from T.G.I Friday's is back! Sigh... but sad to say it's only a guest appearance on 12th May 2013. The Mocha Mud Pie only stops by for Mother's Day, a one day event. How can I resist the temptation of not eating my favourite dessert? So off we go to T.G.I Friday's... When we walked into the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the staff and escorted to our table in the non-smoking section. Before we sat down, the first question that we asked the staff was "Is the Mocha Mud Pie dessert still available for today?" T.G.I Friday's used to be our favourite hang out place. We love the environment, food, people and the dessert. However, ever since they changed the dessert menu and Jack Daniel's sauce, we seldom hang around at T.G.I Friday's. Jack Daniel's sauce is still the best compared to the Tennessee sauce. Since Jack Daniel's no longer in the menu, I ordered the Tennessee Chicken & Shr...

Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix (22~24 March 13) - Sepang

Image
Recently we went to this Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix in Sepang. It was my first time watching the F1 race live and not on tv! Instead of driving ourselves to Sepang, we decided to take the public transport. It was indeed a wise decision because it was so convenient. We took a bus from KL Sentral to Sepang - RM30 for a return ticket. We do not need to waste our time looking for parking lot or caught in the jam because there's a special lane just for the buses when approaching the Sepang International Circuit. However, the bus will drop you off about 5 minutes walk from the main entrance. The weather was cloudy when we reached Sepang International Circuit and seems that storm is approaching. While walking towards the main entrance we saw many people selling earplugs. They were selling RM5 a pair! I was thinking to myself, how bad will it be until you need an earplugs. Well, I was wrong and regretted for not buying that earplu...
