Congkak

Congkak is a game mostly played by girls. The board is made from wood and has 16 holes (14 smaller holes and 2 bigger holes) You need 2 person to play this game. Each player controls the 7 smaller holes on their side of the board and their score is the number of seeds in their left hand store (bigger hole).

Marbles or small rocks can be used as the seed. Each smaller holes need to be filled with 7 seeds except the player's store which is the bigger hole. In total 98 seeds are needed in this game.

In the first move, both players get to play simultaneously. They can only take the seeds from their side of the board and distribute them in each hole clockwise skipping the opponent's store but does not skip your own store. Once the last seed falls into an empty hole, the player's first turn is over and needs to wait until the opponent reached an empty hole before the 1st player can continue playing again.

If the last seed falls into a player's own store, they earn another turn which can begin at any seven holes under their control. If the last seed falls into a hole with seeds, then player needs to take all the seeds and distribute them. The process continues until the last seed falls into an empty hole. The game ends, when a player has no seeds in any of his seven holes at the start of his turn. The opponent gets to have the remaining seeds on their side of the holes.
