Kudos (Modern European Dining) - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Kudos is located in the busy street of Gaya, just right below The Jesselton Hotel. Cozy, clean and classy ambience suitable for private parties and functions. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but a few customers came in after that. The staff were friendly and attentive. This is our 2nd time dining here and it will not be the last. During our first visit with my partner's friend, I ordered chicken, ham and asparagus and it was good. So here we are again to try something different.
This round we ordered Norwegian Salmon (comes with herbs, lemon mayonnaise, broccoli and potatoes) and Spaghetti Con Pollo E Funghi (comes with chicken, sage, mushrooms, cheese flakes and wine cream sauce). Sage is a type of herb commonly used in Italian cuisine. After we have placed our order, the friendly staff served us their complimentary bread. It's a crispy toasted bread comes with a dipping sauce. We used to call the bread "roti kok". Frankly, I have no idea what's in the dipping sauce but definitely not to my liking.
When the waiter served us food, he warned us to be careful of the plates as they were very hot. Salmon cooked to perfection and it's good. Spaghetti was delicious and cooked al dente (pasta that's fully cooked but not overly soft) The flavours burst in your mouth with each spoonful. Both dishes were simply delicious. However, the price of food is expensive.
We had their signature chocolate fondant for dessert but sadly I don't really enjoy it because there's a bitter taste in it. I prefer their chef's tiramisu that we had on our first visit. It's fluffy, creamy, light with a nip of liqueur and chocolate. Definitely the best tiramisu that I have tried so far. (I did not bring my camera on my first visit, hence no photo taken for my favourite tiramisu)
