Penang - Food Hunting Trip (Day 4)

This is our third time dining at OO White Coffee. Our supplier recommended this place for its char kueh teow (stir-fried rice noodles). Since it's our last day in Penang, we decided to have this char kueh teow before checking out of the hotel. OO White Coffee is approximately 10 minutes drive (5.4km) from  Sunway Hotel, Georgetown  (Grab fare - RM 9). Each of us ordered a plate of char kueh teow with chicken egg. The dish contains cockles, chives, chicken egg, prawns and bean sprouts. The char kueh teow is moist and flavourful. However, this time, it has a charred taste. One of their signature drinks is tea with condensed and evaporated milk. My partner requested less sugar and it's good. I ordered the fresh apple juice with sour plum and it's a little sour for me. After our lunch, we took a Grab ride back to our hotel (Grab fare - RM10). (Total bill - RM 37.65) OO White Coffee Restaurant ambience Tea with condensed and evaporated milk - RM 5.10 and fresh apple juice with s

Kedai Kopi Genting Cafe  has moved to a neighboring area, where it now operates as First Genting Cafe. The cafe is approximately 6.3km from  Sunway Hotel, Georgetown  (Grab fare - RM 12). I've recently grown to enjoy their chee cheong fun (steamed flat rice noodles), but sadly, by the time we got there at midday, they were all sold out. I decided to try their asam laksa, but it was not as flavourful as the old stall. My partner ordered the roasted pork and chicken rice. The chicken rice is soft and fluffy, but the chicken itself is soft and mushy. There's a stall selling prawn paste, and my partner bought two bottles to take home. First Genting Cafe Cafe ambience Iced water - RM 0.50 each Asam laksa - RM 6.50 Chicken and roasted pork - RM 12.50 Chicken rice Rojak paste - RM 15 Address: First Genting Cafe 3K, Lorong Delima 1, Taman Island Glades, 11600 George Town, Penang Our next stop is Nasi Kandar Sulaiman. We had two Michelin Guide meals on our second day in Penang, and both of them let us down. The first is Ah  Boy Koay Teow Th'ng, located at Lebuh Clarke in George Town. The shop is about a 5-minute drive (1.3km) from  Sunway Hotel, Georgetown  (Grab fare - RM 5). When we arrived at the shop at 11.40am on a Friday morning, it was almost empty. Both soup and dry versions of kueh teow are available. It comes with  meatballs, fried fish balls, fish balls, pork tendon balls and chicken slices. You can add on fish maw, quail eggs, vegetables, chicken skin, dumplings or giblets. We ordered a bowl of k ueh teow soup, which comes with fish balls, a bowl of fish balls and pork tendon balls soup and b ean sprout chicken. The lady got my order mixed up and gave me only fried fish balls instead of both fried fish balls and fish balls. The rice noodles are soft, but the broth is not flavourful enough. Other than that, the fish balls are soft and they have a fishy taste. The fried fish balls are
