Manukan Island Resort, Sabah - Day 2

I felt like a zombie when I woke up the next day. I couldn't sleep a wink last night because occasionally I heard footsteps from the above guests. Not to mention I can hear the chair dragging sound so clearly around 6.50am. Seems that the guests staying above us must be an early bird. We went for our breakfast at 9am. Breakfast starts from 8am to 10am. The night before we have pre ordered our breakfast set. You may choose either American breakfast, pancake, nasi lemak, porridge, roti canai or fish noodle soup.

We ordered one American breakfast and one porridge set. American breakfast comes with two slices of bread, sausages, bacons, potatoes, grilled tomato, fried egg and baked bean. My porridge comes with basic condiments such as soy sauce, ginger, pickled radish, braised peanuts, fried anchovies, fried shallots and a basket of dim sum. Apart from our breakfast set we were given a glass of orange juice, milk, small cup of calamansi juice and a plate of fruits. There's 3 mini packets of breakfast cereal, raisins and some nuts on every table.

I think this is one of the worst porridge that I have ever eaten. I like those porridge that has a gooey texture, creamy, thicker than liquid but not solid. However, their porridge texture looks more like plain rice soaked in hot water. Besides that, their fried anchovies are not crispy. My partner couldn't finished his American breakfast too. Basically, we didn't really enjoy our breakfast.

After our breakfast, my partner decided to go for another water sports activity which is sea walking. (Price: RM 150 per person for 10 minutes) They allowed me to join them for a short boat ride out to the diving platform although I'm not going for the sea walking. However, during the boat journey they did not provide us with any life jacket. Even though life jacket is not needed for sea walking, they should at least provide us with a life jacket during the boat journey.

Sea walking is like walking under the sea with a specially designed air-hosed helmet. The helmet will keep you dry from the neck up and one does not require any knowledge of swimming or diving. They do provide shoes if you are wearing a slippers. Is it worth to go for sea walking at Manukan Island? Well, based on my partner's opinion, once is enough.

We check out at 12.30pm and took the last boat that leaves Manukan Island at 1pm. There's only five of us including the boat driver. We arrived at Sutera Marina Jetty 10 minutes later. That concludes our 2 days 1 night stay at Manukan Island Resort.
