Ara Dinawan Island, Sabah - Day 2

I was woken up before sunrise by the chirping birds outside our tent. Somehow, I didn't have a good night sleep last night. Maybe because the room was warm as the portable air conditioner wasn't working enough to cool the room. We had our breakfast at 8.40am. It's American breakfast comes with scrambled egg, toasted bread, baked beans and sausages. They prepared the breakfast in advance, thus our food was cold. Fundamentally, toast should be served straight from the toaster! I love American breakfast but sadly I hardly touched my food. Even Jeelong didn't want to eat my toast but happily ate 3 of my sausages. If you didn't get to read my Day 1 blog, Jeelong is a dog kept by the resort owner.

After breakfast, my partner proceed with one of the resort's activity which is flying fish ride. Around 10am the resort staff brought us out for boat snorkeling. The snorkeling spot is just right in front of the island. They gave us 50 minutes of snorkeling time in an hour trip. By the time we went back to our tent after our snorkeling session, electricity has been cut off. The tent was so stuffy and hot. (Fyi, electricity only available inside the tent from 3pm to 9am) We quickly packed our things and checked out around 12.15pm.

Lunch was provided before we depart from Ara Dinawan Island. They served rice, fried vermicelli, stir fried vegetables, fried chicken with spices, wedges and watermelon. Sadly, food didn't meet our expectation. We were supposed to leave at 1pm but the boat was delayed by 40 minutes. Basically we have additional 40 minutes to hang around the beach before we had to bid farewell to Dinawan Island. Even though it's just a short gateway, it helps to unwind and recharge our energy, mood and health.
