Caffebene

Image
Bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert topped with varieties of ingredients such as fruits, red beans, condensed milk and fruit syrup. I had my first Strawberry Bingsu at Caffebene Sunway Pyramid and it was good. I love the gelato, strawberries and even though I'm not a big fan of red bean, the combination was perfect. My second visit to Caffebene was at Imago Shopping Mall in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This round I decided to try their  Cookie and Cream Bingsu. Turned out to be less refreshing compared to the Strawberry Bingsu but at least the cookies were crunchy. Finally on my 3rd visit to Caffebene, my friends decided to try their  Green Tea Bingsu. Slight disappointment because this round the ice texture was rough and green tea flavour was very mild. Overall, I still prefer their Strawberry Bingsu.  It is cooling and refreshing, one of the best dessert to beat the heat. Four steps to eat your bingsu based on Caffebene's instruction card: 1. Kakigori - Petaling Jaya

Image
Happiness is enjoying a bowl of cold shaved ice. So here we are at Kakigori, located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya. Kakigori means shaved ice in Japanese. This shop serves few types of Kakigori such as Tiramisu, Uji matcha, Uji macha brulee, Japanese pumpkin, watermelon, strawberry, chestnut milk, avocado, guava and hojicha. Tiramisu has always been my favourite dessert and without thinking twice we ordered it. Apart from that, we ordered a slice of  brulee choc D24 roll as well.  First mouthful of Kakigori Tiramisu tasted heavenly. However it doesn't taste as good as the first mouthful as we continue eating it. Ended up we couldn't finish the whole bowl. On the other hand, Brulee choco D24 roll was good. Durian flavour was very intense and the cake was moist and soft.  Shop ambience was pleasant, relaxing and cold. Yes! It was so cold that we started shivering after eating half the shaved ice. Kakigori practice self service ordering, collection and returning....

Outdark - Subang Jaya

My blog was idle for more than 3 months and during that time I was so unmotivated to do anything. I was in my dream world and glad that finally I'm back on track. After a long break, I decided to blog about Korean food. I owe my special buddy a big favour and no matter what I have to treat him a good meal. So we ended up at Outdark SS15, Subang Jaya. This restaurant has a dim lighting and it was packed with youngsters. We ordered Cheese Kingdom - spicy Korean chicken leg meat wrapped with cheese, serves with assorted side dishes such chewy rice cake, seaweed rice, kimchi, pineapple and sweet corn. The portion was big enough to feed three adults. We requested for a less spicy chicken leg meat and it turned out just nice. However, chicken wrapped with cheese was way too cheesy and after our third piece, our appetite vanished. Among all the side dishes, seaweed rice was my favourite but you need to eat it while it's hot. Else the seaweed rice tends to dry out and harden. ...
