Restoran Capitol Satay - Malacca

Restoran Capitol Satay is one of the famous satay celup in Malacca and infact one of my "must eat food" when I travel to Malacca. It is located at Lorong Bukit Cina, 15 minutes walking distance from Fenix Inn Melaka. You won't miss this shop when passed by Lorong Bukit Cina because the queues were crazy.

We waited almost 45 minutes to get a table. One thing good about eating satay celup is you don't share table with others. When your table is ready, one of the staff will put a new pot with the satay sauce in the middle of the table. Underneath it there's a stove and a gas tank to boil the sauce. The staff will then put in fresh grinded peanuts and spices into the pot and bring it to a boil. You can now dip all your favourite raw skewered food into the pot. By the way, you need to stir the sauce occasionally to avoid sedimentation of the satay sauce at the bottom of the pot.

I just love the quail's egg, water spinach, prawns, stuff lady fingers, prawn cake and fishballs dipped into the spicy peanut sauce/satay sauce. Each stick cost RM0.90 and the raw skewered food are placed in the open refrigerator to keep them fresh. Some raw food are placed in different colour of plates which indicate different pricing. Each of us was given a plate of free cucumber. This is still my favourite satay celup restaurant as their satay sauce is more flavourful, spicier and tastier compared to Restaurant Ban Lee Siang. End of the day, a glass of herbal tea is just nice to cool down our body after consuming the heaty stuff.
