Poring Hot Spring - Ranau, Sabah

Image
One of the places of interest in Ranau is Poring Hot Spring. It's approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu Airport or 45 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The climate in Ranau is warm compared to Kundasang which has lowest temperature of 11'C when we were at Bundu Tuhan  last year. There's open-air and enclosed bath tub for you to enjoy the hot spring water which contains sulfur. Apart from that there's tub for soaking your legs too. Basically, you can spend the whole day here as there's canopy walkway, slide pool, butterfly farm, Orchid garden and Tropical garden. We started off with soaking our legs in the hot spring water. The water was really hot and it took us quite a while to completely soaked our legs in. After soaking I can feel my skin refreshed and velvety smooth! We didn't go to the butterfly farm, Orchid and Tropical garden. We only went to the Canopy walkway, Kipungit waterfall and bat cave. Certain pathway to the bat cave

Cititel Express - Penang

Image
Cititel Express Penang is located in George Town, approximately 30 minutes drive from Penang International Airport. We stayed at Cititel Express Ipoh before and decided to try out Cititel Express Penang instead. We stayed in a standard room comes with a double bed, air conditioning with individual temperature control, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water, coffee or tea making facilities, safe box, mini fridge, praying mat for Muslim guest, wall-mounted TV with limited channels and basic toiletries (wall mounted 2 in 1 shampoo dispenser and shower cap). Simple and clean room. However, the room is small and feels cramped. Same goes to the bathroom. Shower is separated from the toilet area with its own transparent cubicle. Water is hot but pressure is low. If you're looking for a spacious room and bathroom, this is not the right room for you. (Room rate: RM 151.55 excluding breakfast) Reception area Water dispenser Double bed Working desk, wal

Hotel Ixora, Seberang Perai - Penang

Image
Hotel Ixora is located in Seberang Perai, next to Megamall Penang (a medium-sized mall). Basically, I just need to walk over to have my McD breakfast the next day. We decided to stay one night in Penang before heading back to Alor Star from Ipoh. Along the way from Ipoh to Penang, we stopped by Design Village Penang and Hotel Ixora is approximately 30 minutes drive from the outlet mall. We stayed in a superior room comes with a super king bed, self controlled air conditioning, wall-mounted TV, iron, ironing board, electronic weighing scale, safe box, mini fridge, disposable slippers, basic toiletries (bath gel and shampoo), 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water and coffee or tea making facilities. Clean, spacious room and bathroom comes with a double sink. Having a great shower should be a basic for a hotel. Hotel Ixora provides good water pressure but water is not hot enough. Hotel facilities includes swimming pool and gym. Overall it was a pleasant stay except for the hot sh

Hotel Seri Malaysia - Penang

Image
Hotel Seri Malaysia is located in Bayan Baru area of Penang, just 8 minutes drive (4.6 km) from Penang International Airport. Since we arrived at Penang International Airport around 1.30am and we just need a place to sleep for the night, we decided to stay in this hotel. We checked in at 2am and opt for a downstairs room because upper floor only accessible by stairs. We stayed in a superior queen room comes with a double bed, self controlled air conditioning, flat-screen TV, iron, ironing board, praying mat, basic toiletries (shampoo & bath gel), hot/cold shower, complimentary 2 bottles of drinking water and coffee or tea making facilities. Basic room with thin blanket and there's only one access card per room. My partner went out for a quick late night supper and basically I have to wait for him to come back before I can sleep. I'm quite particular when it comes to bathroom. So, a hotel with a stained toilet bowl is a big turn off for me. Apart from that, there
