Cititel - Penang

Image
Cititel Penang is located in George Town, approximately 7 minutes drive (2.3km) from  Cititel Express , Penang. We stayed at  Cititel Express  in 2018, and this time we chose to try Cititel Penang. The hotel provides three types of welcome drinks: water, green tea and nutmeg. We stayed two nights in a superior double room that comes with a king-size bed, a working desk, a wall mounted TV with limited channels, air conditioning with individual temperature control, a ceiling fan, two complimentary bottles of mineral water, coffee or tea making facilities, an in-room safe, an iron and ironing board, disposable slippers, a mini fridge, complimentary Wi-Fi, a hair dryer and basic toiletries. The room is clean and spacious. Bed is comfy and the pillows are soft and nice. You even get to choose your pillow menu. We requested two additional pillows since they only provided one each. Shower is separated from the toilet area with its own transparent cubicle. Water pressure is normal but I dislik

Countryside Stable - Penang

Image
Countryside Stable is located in Balik Pulau, approximately 40 minutes drive (27.5km) from Gurney Drive, Penang. It's a private property wholly owned by Wan Aikhsan and Doris Lim. The stables are home to horses, miniature, ponies, donkeys and deer. Jon decided to bring Alan and his kid there for a joyride. You can even buy a bucket of hay to feed the horses, ponies and donkeys. Most of the visitors are families with children. It's a fantastic adventure for kids to see horses up close and even ride them. Admission fee: 1) Malaysian: age 12 years and below - RM 8; adult - RM 12 per person 2) Non Malaysian: age 12 years and below - RM 15; adult - RM 20 per person Guided joyride (for an appropriate distance of 200m): 1) Pony or horse ride: 12 years and below, body weight not exceeding 75kg - RM 20 per child / RM 25 per adult 2) Miniature horse ride for toddler: 1 to 3 years old (approximate distance of 150m), body weight not exceeding 16kg - RM 20 per child   Countryside Stable Cou

Hat Yai - Day 3 (Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum)

It's our third and final day at Hat Yai. Instead of having hotel breakfast, we decided to try out this shop recommended by our friend. Chen Loong Boat Noodle is just 1 minute walking distance (110m) from Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel Hat Yai . I had the dry version of beef noodle that comes with slices of meat and beef balls. Each bowl of beef noodles comes with mint leaves and bean sprouts. The portion is not very big and you get to choose your noodle type. I like the thin rice noodle texture but the broth has this aftertaste of sweetness, which I don't really enjoy. Apart from that, the meat tastes more like pork than beef to me. After breakfast, we walked back to our hotel and checked out at 10am.
