Tung Fong Seafood Restaurant - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Image
This restaurant is highly recommended by the local people. You can tell by the crowds. We reached there around 1.50pm and the restaurant still crowded with people despite being a weekday. One of their signature dish is the fish fillet with sweet sauce. Just take a peek at other tables around you and you will see that signature dish. This dish goes well with either rice or noodles. We only ordered 2 dishes - their signature dish (fish fillet with sweet sauce) and fried cuttlefish with salted egg. I prefer to have it with noodles while my partner as usual loves rice. I quite enjoy the fish fillet. Fish was fresh, soft with very light crispy batter. However, if you leave this dish too long, flour coating tend to get sticky. I had the fish with a plate of dry noodles. Their dry noodles were sweet and black. As usual I prefer to dilute it with soup and requested a bowl of plain soup from them. The soup tasted slightly fishy to me. On the other hand, I don't really enjoy the fried c

LF Hotel - Tapah, Perak

Image
We were heading back to KL from north and traffic movement was slow and heavy after Ipoh. We were both too exhausted to go on and decided to exit at Tapah. It was almost 8pm and it started to drizzle. We stumbled upon LF Hotel and happily checked into the hotel. There's 7 types of room available - single deluxe, queen deluxe, twin deluxe, king deluxe, family suite, VIP modern and VIP Japanese. Price range from RM 82.70 ~ RM 315.90. We stayed in the queen deluxe room comes with a queen size bed, LCD TV (limited channels - Go Asean, TV1, TV3 and Astro prima), self controlled air conditioning, free wifi and 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water. Simple, clean and small room with good lighting but without any coffee or tea making facilities, mini fridge, hair dryer or in room safe. However, there's hot and cold water dispenser located at the hotel lobby. Friendly and attentive staff. We requested 2 extra pillows for our room and it's free of charge. Clean bathroom

Bumbu Cafe (Cititel Express Ipoh) - Ipoh

Image
Bumbu Cafe is located at the ground floor of Cititel Express Ipoh . I was informed by the front desk that they just started their buffet breakfast not so long ago. As usual, sleepyhead decided to stay in bed and keep his stomach for other yummy food in Ipoh town. Me on the other hand, decided to wake up early and try their buffet breakfast. Breakfast starts from 7am to 10.30am. To my great disappointment, it's the worst buffet breakfast i have ever had. They only serve bread, nasi lemak, fried noodles, sausage and fruits. There's no fried anchovies for the nasi lemak and sliced cucumber doesn't look fresh. Besides that, only one piece of sausage left on the serving tray. When I was about to leave, I asked the staff whether they have an egg station. Guess what? They do have an egg station behind the counter! Sigh... If only I had asked earlier... Cititel Express - Ipoh, Perak

I just love Ipoh food. You will never go hungry in Ipoh. Whenever we travel back north, we will definitely stopped for a night in Ipoh. This is the first time we stayed at Cititel Express Ipoh and it's indeed a good choice. Front desk staff was very friendly and attentive. They deliver on their brand promise of providing smart, clean and simple accommodation. We stayed in a superior queen room, comes with a queen size bed, in room safe, study table, LED TV, open wardrobe, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water, 2 packets of milk tea, hair dryer, bathroom with hot / cold shower, wall mounted 2 in 1 shampoo dispenser, self controlled air conditioning and toiletries (s hower caps, cotton buds and mini bar soap). Simple and small room without mini fridge but most importantly it's clean and comfortable. Complimentary high speed wifi access up to 4 devices per room. Hot & cold water dispenser is located at the pantry area on every guest floor. However if you need water ju

Lemongrass Restaurant (Hotel Neo +) - Penang

Image
Our stay at Hotel Neo + includes breakfast for 2 person. Sleepyhead was too lazy to wake up for morning breakfast, so he sacrificed breakfast for more sleep. Me on the other hand woke up early (ok... not so early around 8.30am) to eat the hotel breakfast. Breakfast time starts from 6.30am to 10am. Simple buffet breakfast and the only thing that I enjoyed most was the fried egg with baked beans. I was quite disappointed when I ate the hash browns. It's cold and soft. Besides that, only few pieces of chicken left and there's no sambal and anchovies for my nasi lemak! Apart from that I was struggling to find a clean drinking glass because most of it were dull and cloudy. One of the hotel staff saw and told me it was due to the dishwasher machine. I felt that they should improve on this because cleanliness is very important. I guess I should have just stayed in bed and skipped breakfast just like sleepyhead...
