Signal Hill Observatory Tower - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Image
One of the best places to get a good view of Kota Kinabalu city center is Signal Hill Observatory Tower, just two minute drive from Atkinson Clock Tower . There's limited parking space in front of the Observatory Tower (less than 10 parking spaces) and next to the platform there's benches for you to sit and watch the sunset. You can even enjoy a cup of coffee in KK View Cafe, open daily from 9am to 11pm. It's very quiet, calm and once a while there's a cool breeze blowing on a hot Saturday afternoon. It feels good to sit there and do nothing but to observe the surroundings. Not much of the sea view due to the tall buildings. A place for you to take photos of the city center, unwind and to view the sunset. Atkinson Clock Tower - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

The Atkinson Clock Tower is one of the oldest building in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It was built as a memorial to the first District Officer of Kota Kinabalu, Mr. Francis George Atkinson who had died in 1902 of Malaria at the age of 28. The Clock Tower was initiated in 1902 and completed in 1905. Nothing much you can do up there except taking photos and just a snapshot is enough for most tourist. It's a small clock tower not far away from Gaya Street. There's a parking space beside the clock tower but it's very dusty and in bad condition. I was the only person there on a hot Saturday afternoon. To me, it's not worth the time if you purposely make a trip there. Nasi Kandar Anak Mami, Bundusan - Kota Kinabalu

My new found favourite food in Nasi Kandar Anak Mami is cheese naan with chicken tandoori! Naan is a type of Indian bread traditionally cooked in a tandoor oven. Nasi Kandar Anak Mami offers different kinds of naan such as plain naan, garlic naan, cheese naan, carrot naan, kaya naan, beef naan, chicken naan, mutton naan, garlic + cheese + butter naan, raisin naan (mixed with cashew nuts and green apple), butter naan and onion naan.  I've only tried their cheese naan and I enjoyed it very much. It's soft, chewy and cheesy (with melting cheese inside). Apart from that, I love their chicken tandoori - roasted chicken with spices. It's slightly spicy and the chicken are tender and juicy with all the flavours of spices. Cheese naan with chicken tandoori set comes together with salad (consist of cabbage, tomatoes, onions and mayonnaise), curry and mint sauce. Besides cheese naan, my partner loves their "nasi kandar". Nasi kandar consist of plain steamed rice serv

Sabah Museum

During my school days, I remember my school used to organize field trip after the year end exam. Teachers will distribute the field trip permission slip and students will not be allowed to take the trip unless parental permission is granted. We used to visit the National museum, library, factories and even Palace! Of course all of us were so excited for the day to come. However, as I grow up, it's sad to say that I no longer visit the museum. I can barely recall when was the last time I went to the museum. Maybe I'm not a museum person and find it pretty boring.  Since I'm currently here in Sabah and I have yet to visit the Sabah Museum, I decided to make a trip there. Admission fee is RM 2 and you will get a one day pass to the Sabah Museum and Islamic Civilisation Museum. Taking photograph in the exhibition hall is prohibited. So, I can only show some of the photos taken outside the museum and also the Heritage Village. Entrance to the Heritage Village is free of cha
