One day "makan" trip - Malacca

Malacca (or Melaka in malay) is known as a historical state in Malaysia. The Christ Church of Melaka is a popular tourist area. You will see alot of trishaw parked along the church patiently waiting for their potential customers. They are nicely decorated with colourful flowers and each trishaw will have their own loud speaker playing variety of songs. Besides Christ Church of Melaka, Fort A Famosa is also another popular tourist area.

Our first stop of the day is the chicken rice. We decided to have chicken rice outside the Malacca town to avoid the long queue. Glad that we made the right decision because the queue was crazy for the chicken rice ball when we were in Malacca town later that afternoon.

I was so hungry when we arrived at this W Chicken Rice shop and totally forgot to snap photos of the food. :p Anyway I decided to snap the photo of the chicken bone instead. Hehehe...

They do not serve chicken rice ball and only serve the normal chicken rice. The chicken was tender and juicy. The combination of chilli sauce and dark soy sauce completes everything.

Can you see the long queue? Those people with umbrellas are actually queuing for the chicken rice balls in Malacca town!

Our 2nd stop of the day is Baba & Nyonya food at Ole Sayang. You can see that the restaurant is quite empty because they just started their business. The operating business hour for lunch is from 11.30am till 2.30pm and dinner is from 6pm till 9.30pm. One of my favourite dishes is the itik tim. To avoid the crowd you must be there before 12pm.

Our 3rd stop of the day is cendol time at Jonker 88. One bowl is never enough so we had our 2nd bowl. :) The gula melaka or known as palm sugar taste superb with the combination of ice and cendol. We had our dessert at the Jonker Walk World Heritage Park since the restaurant was crowded with people. This Jonker 88 is situated just beside the Jonker Walk World Heritage Park.

Our 4th stop of the day is satay celup at Ban Lee Siang. The difference between satay celup and steamboat is the soup. Satay celup uses satay sauce as the soup. The sauce is abit spicy and it gets thicken if you keep on boiling. So you need to stir the sauce occasionally to avoid sedimentation of the satay sauce at the bottom of the pot. They actually recycled the satay sauce and I believe same goes to others satay celup restaurant. So this is not the right food for you to try if you are concern about the cleanliness.

Raw food such as fishballs, vegetables, prawns, meat, chicken, quail eggs, century eggs and lots more are placed in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. You only take what you can consume and you are not allow to return the unfinished raw food into the refrigerator.

We reached there around 3pm and the restaurant owner was kind enough to open the door for us! He told us they will open the shop once all the goods are ready. However the official opening hours for this shop is 5.30pm. In order to aviod the long queue during dinner time it's best to go early. ;) Yet, I still prefer the Restaurant Capitol Satay. I prefer their satay sauce as they have more spices and peanuts in it. They will provide a new pot for new customers and will add in spices and peanuts into the existing satay sauce before heating  the sauce for you. Whereas for this Restaurant Ban Lee Siang you will use back the existing pot from the previous customer. :p

Final stop of the day is the yummy duck noodles at SS Food And Beverage Station. We waited 30 minutes for the noodles to arrive. You get to select your noodles and the yong tau fu as the side dishes. Since I am a fishball lover I have selected 2 types of fishballs. I like the chili sauce because it is not so spicy and I love to mix it with the noodles. The shop is located nearby the Hang Jebat Monorail Station. There is a big parking lot infront of the restaurant. I forgot to check on the opening hours. If not mistaken they only open at night.
