1 day Fremantle, Cottesloe, Swanbourne, Kings Park self tour - Perth, Western Australia

Image
I just realized that I have yet to post out this blog. It was back in the summer when we were in Perth, hot and dry with temperature over 40'C at times... We started off the day with a delicious breakfast at Hungry Jacks, Australian franchisee of Burger King Corporation. I just love the whopper. The sesame seed bun was soft and the flame grilled beef was juicy and tender. The whopper came with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and sliced onion. Hungry Jacks - The Whopper Whopper meal comes with 1 whopper burger, small fries & apple and blackcurrent juice - $7.80 We drove our way to Fremantle and take a stroll at the Esplanade Park and fishing boat harbour. Since it was Monday and was not a public holiday, we were unable to visit the Fremantle Market & E Shed Markets which open only from Friday ~ Sunday. We had our lunch at Cicerello which is one of the famous Fish n Chips in Perth. You will be given an instrument after yo

Restoran Damansara Hokkien Mee - Petaling Jaya

Image
Restoran Damansara Hokkien Mee is located in Damansara Uptown, same row as the Restoran Tiong Hokkien Mee  and Village Park Restaurant  but different block. They even set up tables outside the restaurant at the parking lot area. This place will be crazy crowded during dinner time. By the way, this restaurant only operates during dinner time. We ordered one plate of hokkien mee and hokkien mee hoon. Both the hokkien mee and hokkien mee hoon came with pork larks, cabbage, prawns and pork slices. The taste was ok for both but the mee hoon's texture wasn't that impressive. I find it a bit dry and thick as I personally preferred fine mee hoon and  the "wetter" version of the hokkien mee hoon. The sambal was ok but wasn't too crazy about it. There is a roasted duck stall located inside the restaurant. We ordered one plate (smallest portion) of roasted duck and it was good! No gamey smell and the duck was juicy, tender and not too fat but the skin wasn't

1/2 day Swan Valley self tour - Perth, Western Australia

We took a midnight flight and reached Perth early in the morning. It was summer and the weather was hot! We rented a car from Redspot for 3 days and cost us RM507.22. The procedure was fast and easy. We did an online booking and once we reached Perth Airport, we collected the car from the Redspot counter. We returned the car to them after 3 days by just dropping the car key into the box provided at the Redspot counter. Redspot  This is our rented car from Redspot We had our lunch at Elmar's in the Valley. This restaurant is located in the heart of Swan Valley. It is a German style restaurant, brewery, gift shop and smallgoods (a term used in Australia for small meat products such as hams, bacon & sausages) Lovely restaurant and the food was nice. We had this German sauerkraut which was made from cabbage that has been fermented by various lactic acid. Something new to me but I don't really enjoyed it as it tasted sour. Elmar's in the
