Goku Raku Ramen Midvalley Megamall - Kuala Lumpur

Ramen!!! I started craving for ramen after I came back from Perth last month. Still can't get over the yummy ramen at Dosukoi! So we started Ramen hunting. :) Last weekend we decided to try out Goku Raku Ramen while we were in Midvalley.

Since it was our first time here, the waiter recommended us to try the Ultimate Tonkotsu Ramen with the original soup flavour. The ramen came with char siew, flavoured egg (nitamago), spring onion, fermented bamboo shoot (menma), seaweed (nori), fragrant garlic oil, bean sprouts and leek. The eggs (nitamago) were marinated in a special sauce after it was cooked. The egg white was perfectly set while the yolk remained velvety and squishy. It was delicious and one of my favourite.

The ramen was just right, not too soft and not too hard with a chewy smooth texture. The char siew was soft and melts in your mouth. The original soup was good but Dosukoi still the best. Besides that, the roasted garlic was good. I don't take garlic but this roasted garlic was crunchy and fragrant. Sprinkle some onto your ramen and it works wonder.

We went and pay our bill at the counter and found out that they have this draw, scratch and redeem a free meal contest starting 1st Nov 2012 till 31st Jan 2013. My husband picked a card from the box and scratched it. Then we saw the word Congratulations appeared. The waitress started cheering for us as we have won a free meal! I was like are you serious? Well... it's true. Wuhooo... we won a free meal worth RM53. Not bad huh... :) I was wondering whether he was lucky or maybe all the customers get to eat a free meal too because while we were dining there, we heard a few cheers but didn't bother to find out more...

By the way, I saw this 6 steps to an ultimate ramen dining experience printed in the menu and decided to share it out:

1. Indulge your sight and smell receptors with the appetizing aroma of the rich broth
2. Scoop, sip and savour generous amounts of soup to start off. The soup is the most significant element of any ramen dish
3. Mix the noodles and soup well. Take note not to mix the seaweed together as it will dissolve
4. Next, slurp away. The noodles are best consumed with the soup while it is hot, approximately within 7 to 8 minutes after it is served
5. For that extra tasty kick, eat it with the accompaniments and added toppings
6. By now, the soup will have reached its full bodied flavour. Finish up by gulping it, down to the last drop
