Korea - Day 7 (Alpensia Ski Resort - Lotte Department Store Main Store - Myeongdong)

It's a sunny Friday morning and temperature is around -2℃. My glass of water is fully frozen after I left it in the balcony for 2 days. We checked out from Holiday Inn Resort Hotel around 11.20am. The whole check out process was very fast and smooth. Again we had Lotteria for brunch. Lotteria is a popular fast food restaurant in Korea which started in Japan. This time I had bulgogi burger and my partner had big bulgogi burger meal. His set meal comes with Pepsi drink and cheese stick. I prefer yesterday's shrimp burger compared to bulgogi burger because it has a strong gamey taste but the beef quality is good. As usual I love their bun which is soft and fluffy. Not forgetting the delicious cheese stick.

We waited for our shuttle bus at the Welcome Center around 12pm and 15 minutes later the bus has arrived. The bus departs on time at 12.30pm and make one stop to pick up passengers. Finally our shuttle bus departs at 1pm and all the seats are fully occupied. The bus takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach Myeongdong, Seoul. Temperature is around 9℃ in Myeongdong and I started to miss the cold weather at Alpensia Ski Resort. The bus stopped at Ibis Hotel, 9 minutes walking distance (640m) from Aloft Seoul Myeongdong.

We checked in Aloft Seoul Myeongdong around 3.50pm and went out again at 4.30pm for tea break at Paik's Coffee just next to the hotel. I ordered strawberry banana ice blended with soft ice cream and creamy choux. I love their choux. The pastry is light and filled with delicious cream fillings. Most importantly the cream is not too sweet. The waitress actually forgotten to add in the soft ice cream into my ice blended drink. No wonder I felt something is missing when I collected my drink from the counter. Anyway, she added in the soft ice cream and it's good. Ice cream is smooth and creamy. However, my ice blended is not blend properly and doesn't have a smooth texture as there's small ice pellets in it.

We walked to Lotte Young Plaza, a trendy youth shopping center and Kakao Friends Store is located inside the plaza. We bought muscat grape, white strawberry and some snacks from Lotte Mall. Both of us love the muscat grape. It's sweet and texture is a bit like jelly. This is the first time I tried the white strawberry and sadly I'm not impressed with it. It's not candy sweet and having a sour taste. The original chips taste like lays and it's nice. The chips goes best with a can of cold Hite beer.

Since our hotel is within walking distance to Lotte Department Store Main Store, we decided to leave our groceries in our hotel room before we head back to Myeongdong Street for dinner. This is the first time we saw the "Red Angel" - the world's only mobile tourist information service in Myeongdong. We asked them for Korean bbq recommendation and they gave us a few restaurants. We ended up at this Hanu Samgyeop located at 3rd floor. Staff there are very friendly and nice. They even help you to grill your bbq meat. We order combo consists of 3 types of (600g) meat - grilled beef ribs, sirloin triangle and rib eye. Besides that, we also order short rib soup and a bowl of rice. I don't really enjoy the grilled beef rib's texture as it's tough and chewy. Overall, I still prefer the Korean bbq from Wangbijib.
