Perth - Day 10 (Wood & Stone Cafe - San Churro - Amaze Miniature Park - Giants of Mandurah - Cicerello's)

We parked our car at Mandurah Central and walked to Wood and Stone Cafe for brunch. The restaurant has a nice ambience. I ordered Wood & Stone waffle while my partner ordered Special creamy garlic prawns and orange juice. Mine is a sweet and savory dish consist of buttermilk fried chicken, waffle, smoked maple, bacon and bean mascarpone. The sauce taste weird to me and waffle is slightly crispy but dense. Apart from that, bacon is soft and chewy. Fried chicken is good but overall I don't really enjoy the combination of sweet and savory. My partner's orange juice tastes sour and bitter. Whereas for his dish, there's nothing to hype about it.

Total bill - $ 52

We had our favourite churros at San Churros, just 6 minutes (450m) walking distance from Wood and Stone Cafe. I ordered churros for one and a glass of mango fruit smoothies. Churros for one comes with 3 churros dusted with cinnamon sugar and 1 dip cup of milk chocolate. There's 8 types of dip cup for you to choose from - milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, cookie butter, vegan milk chocolate, choc-hazelnut, salted caramel or dulce de Leche. Mango fruit smoothies is refreshing and taste good.

Amaze Miniature Park is approximately 10 minutes drive (7.3km) from Mandurah. It's a wonderful park with over 70 miniature buildings (most of the buildings are exact replicas of well known historic buildings from Abingdon Village which is the oldest town in England), model trains, hedge maze over 7 feet tall, running grass maze, secret garden, 12 hole mini golf, Lego display and Tiny Teapot Cafe.

We reached there around 2pm and took around 2 hours to explore the park. We went in the hedge maze twice in order to find the 6 hidden letters but we only found 5. :( What I enjoyed most was the 12 hole mini golf. I've never picked up a Club before and this is the first time I'm playing golf. I compete with my partner and I won! I was lucky enough to strike a hole in one for hole 8 par 2 while he needs 9 strikes to complete that hole. So for the rest of the day he had to look at my "proud face". :)

Admission fee (includes unlimited mini golf):
a) Adult - $ 15
b) Concession - $ 13
c) Child - $ 12
d) Under 3 - free

While we were at Mandurah Foreshore earlier, we went to Mandurah Visitor Centre to get more information regarding the Giants of Mandurah. They gave us a booklet and basically the task is to find all the 6 wooden sculptures Giants hidden throughout Mandurah built by Thomas Dambo, a Danish recycle artist. It's a free to view outdoor expedition and you need to collect all the clues along the way to reveal the location of the final Giant.

Our first stop is at Coodanup Foreshore (-32.562423, 115.747890) and we need to find Vivi Cirkelstone. It's an easy trail with lots of shady trees and takes around 5 minutes walking from the starting point which is at the car park (550m round trip). We found Vivi Cirkelstone on all fours in a crawling position, tummy on the ground with its hands stretched out scratching the ground.

Next, we drove to Wannanup (-32.606422, 115.652001) to look for Seba's Song. It's an easy trail and takes around 10 minutes walking from the starting point which is at the car park (1.2km round trip). We spotted Seba's Song looking out to sea.

Among all the 6 Giants, this is my favourite. Santi Iko is located at Koolyininap (Halls Head) (-32.537630, 115.690405). Trail surface is bitumen and there's short steep hill sections. It takes around 10 minutes walking from the starting point which is at the car park (1.3km round trip). The view is simply breathtaking. We waited for the sunset before we left to Mandurah for our dinner.

We head back to Mandurah Foreshore and had our dinner at Cicerello. Food is good and I like their calamari. We ordered spicy crumbed fish comes with fish fillet, crumbed in spicy flavoured crumbs and seafood tray comes with 1 piece of fish, 3 prawns, 3 squid rings, 1 crabstick, served with chips and coleslaw.
