Tung Fong Seafood Restaurant - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

This restaurant is highly recommended by the local people. You can tell by the crowds. We reached there around 1.50pm and the restaurant still crowded with people despite being a weekday. One of their signature dish is the fish fillet with sweet sauce. Just take a peek at other tables around you and you will see that signature dish. This dish goes well with either rice or noodles.

We only ordered 2 dishes - their signature dish (fish fillet with sweet sauce) and fried cuttlefish with salted egg. I prefer to have it with noodles while my partner as usual loves rice. I quite enjoy the fish fillet. Fish was fresh, soft with very light crispy batter. However, if you leave this dish too long, flour coating tend to get sticky.

I had the fish with a plate of dry noodles. Their dry noodles were sweet and black. As usual I prefer to dilute it with soup and requested a bowl of plain soup from them. The soup tasted slightly fishy to me. On the other hand, I don't really enjoy the fried cuttlefish with salted egg. Good flavour but cuttlefish was rubbery and chewy. Ended up we couldn't finish it. Anyhow, we will be back to try other dishes.
