Sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Tanjung Aru beach is only 4 minute drive or 11 minute walk from LCCT Terminal 2 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Stretched to over 2 km long, a popular place to hang out for the locals on the weekend to enjoy the sunset and sea breeze. There are various hawker stalls, fruits stalls, local snacks and seafood restaurant open till late at night. If you are driving, there's an open air car park available with a minimum parking fee of 50 cents. There's also a free open air car park just beside Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa. However, it is located quite far away from the hawker stalls.

Do not expect a great beach because Tanjung Aru beach has brown like sea water. Just like a sea of "teh tarik". The beach was very quiet when I got there around noon on a weekday. All I could hear was the wind blows. It was low tide and the beach was full of sand balls made by sand bubbler crab. Such a magnificent masterpiece!
