Kemaman -> Kuala Terengganu - Food Hunting Trip (Day III)

We had our breakfast at Restoran Kampong Meraga Beris again on our 2nd day of stay in Resort World Kijal. Most of the dishes were exactly the same as yesterday's breakfast except they served nasi lemak and fried mee. The nasi lemak rice was fragrant and taste good. Instead of hash browns, they served potato wedges which were much better and tastier.

We checked out from Resorts World Kijal around noon and head to Kuala Terengganu. We wanted to have our lunch at Wee Restaurant but sadly the restaurant was closed. Ended up we had McDonalds. Some of you might be thinking... come on... travelled all the way to Kuala Terengganu just for McD? Well, why not? Besides, different branch will have different texture of French fries and I'm a fast food lover!

As usual I ordered McChicken meal, upgraded my drink to Ribena and my partner ordered the Smokin' BBQ beef meal. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. One of the best fries I've had in McD. The Smokin' BBQ beef was tender and juicy. Hmmmn... I'm lovin' it... (Total bill - RM14.65)

Next stop of the day was Kak Yah keropok lekor, one of the most popular stall in Kuala Terengganu. Seems that this business has been started since 40 years ago. You can actually see their beautiful house located next to the stall. Keropok lekor are actually made from processed fish meat mixed with salt and sagoo flour. The mixture is then hand rolled into sausage shape and deep fried. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. It is best eaten with chili sauce. One of the tradisional and popular snacks in east coast, easily found elsewhere in Kuala Terengganu.

After we had our tea break, we checked in Intan Beach Resort and took a stroll along Batu Burok Beach. We drove our way to Chinatown and had dinner in this Restoran Golden Dragon. The restaurant was very packed and all the tables were occupied when we entered. The owner was very friendly and the service was good.

We ordered the Teo chew style steam fish,  stir fried baby kailan with garlic and ginger & spring onion frog legs. The steam fish comes with ginger, tomato, red chili, spring onion and a sprinkle of chinese white wine. The fish was fresh but I don't really fancy the wine taste. The stir fried baby kailan was nice and the frog legs were big, juicy and the meat texture was soft. (Total bill - RM51)
