I Lotus Seafood Restaurant - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

We love to explore and enjoy trying new food. So, here we are at I Lotus Seafood Restaurant located in Kepayan Point shoplot open for lunch and dinner. We heard many good reviews on their signature dish - I Lotus special coconut prawn and decided to give it a try. Prawns are served in a young coconut shell and together with a fried bun that has been cut into 6 pieces. Not very spicy and the creamy gravy tasted good as a dip for the fried bun. I enjoyed their fried bun very much. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Most importantly it's not greasy.

Another favourite dish of mine is the wok fried homemade beancurd with minced chicken in hot bean paste. I love their homemade beancurd. It's really soft, smooth and delicious. Superb sauce and a good combination with the beancurd. Perfect dish for kids and elderly. 

We tried other dishes as well such as chicken yam basket, pineapple chicken and egg yolk crab. Overall it was just so-so. Steamed fish Teow Chow style was a bit bland for me. Apart from that, "Kai Lan" vegetable or chinese kale was too old and tough. We had a tough time chewing it and their shredded butter egg yolk looks mushy as well. We preferred their stir fried sambal with sweet sauropus instead.
