Iconic Hotel, Bukit Mertajam - Penang
Iconic Hotel is located at Icon City Bukit Mertajam. There's many dessert shops and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. There are three types of design themes rooms at Iconic Hotel Penang - Modern, Urban and Contemporary. We stayed in a superior modern room that comes with a king size bed, self controlled air conditioning, wall mounted TV with limited channels (Astro channel looks fuzzy), iron, ironing board, bathrobe, electronic weighing scale, hair dryer, in-room safe, mini fridge (comes with 2 complimentary can drinks), disposable slippers, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water, face mask, coffee or tea making facilities, coffee machine and toiletries.
Room looks modern, clean and spacious but there's stains on the bedsheets. Bathroom looks dark and there's some old stains under the toilet bowl rim. Water pressure is normal and I like their shower head spray pattern. Their mist spray setting is really nice as it creates a gentle, soft mist spray experience. However, you don't get instant hot water when you turn on the shower. You need to keep the shower running for at least 5 minutes. Apart from that, their hair dryer won't turn on after I've used it for 5 minutes. I have to wait for at least another 10 minutes before I can turn on the hair dryer again.
Hotel facilities include swimming pool and gym. Iconic Hotel offers complimentary parking and it's at level 3 to level 6. You may access to your hotel room directly from the hotel car park. Guest room is from level 8 to 15. There's 3 lifts and only 1 lift that needs room card to access to the guest room floor, while the other 2 lifts you can have full access to any guest room floors! To ensure the safety of hotel guests, hotel management should standardized all the lifts that only hotel guest with guest room card can access to their room floor.
