Ah Fatt (Penang) Kueh Teow Soup - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

I always like kueh teow soup or also known as flat rice noodles serve in a clear broth soup, topped with fish balls, slices of fish cakes or shredded chicken. What makes a good kueh teow soup is the broth. Besides that, texture of the kueh teow and fish balls play an important role too. Ah Fatt (Penang) Kueh Teow Soup located at Lido, Kota Kinabalu (corner shop, opposite wet market with the signboard Kuan Onn Tim Sum) serve good kueh teow soup.

My customized order will be kueh teow soup with fish balls, fish cakes and no bean sprouts. As usual, my bowl of kueh teow soup comes with 5 fish balls, few slices of fish cakes and some vegetables. The broth is very flavourful and the home made fish balls are delicious. It has a bouncy texture and most importantly there's no fish bone in it. A fish bone stuck in between your teeth or throat can be extremely uncomfortable. Their fish cakes are good too. Thinly sliced and best eaten together with the red chili dipped in soy sauce.

Apart from kueh teow soup, they serve dry mee, fish mee soup, homemade fish ball soup, fish mixed soup, wonton soup, tuaran mee soup, fried fish skin, fried bean curd, curry tomyam mee soup and dry mee with curry tomyam soup. Curry tomyam only available Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 3pm.

Remark: You can also purchase the fish balls from them at the price of RM19/kg
