Fishing Village Restaurant Sdn Bhd - Penang

Restoran Fishing Village Seafood is located at Telok Bahang, approximately 7 minutes drive from Hard Rock Hotel, Penang. Two days in a row we had our dinner here. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the cheese baked oyster. I normally don't eat oyster due to the slimy, slippery and chewy texture. However their cheese baked oyster was really delicious. Oyster topped with creamy cheese, chopped onions, spring onions and sliced mushrooms. The combination was perfect!

Besides cheese baked oyster, we ordered steamed clam with Thai sauce, stir fried kai lan with oyster sauce, fish (cooked in 2 different styles - butter garlic fried fish & steamed fish with lemon grass "Thai style"). The dishes were good.

On the second day, we tried the garlic steamed oyster. It was nice but cheese baked oyster still the best. We ordered few more dishes such as clam cooked in kam heong style, salted egg mantis prawn and black pepper deep fried crispy squid.

The kam heong sauce was special and nice. The sauce tasted different from the kam heong style that we normally had. Slightly spicy and the clams are fresh. We couldn't finish the black pepper deep fried crispy squid as it turned out to be quite spicy and chewy for me. The black pepper taste was very strong.

On our first day, we ordered watermelon juice and chrysanthemum tea. The chrysanthemum tea was quite diluted and the watermelon juice was contaminated with other fruits flavour. Ended up on the second day, we decided to order can drink and plan water. Overall the food is delicious and the seafood is really fresh.

If you are wondering where to park your car, right opposite the restaurant there's a small parking area. Parking is quite limited and a local guy will come chasing after you to collect RM2 even though it's not a proper parking lot!
