Seemsoon Hotel - Ipoh, Perak

It has been a really busy month. I have so much things to blog but very limited time. Finally I have the time to sit down quietly and write. We were in Ipoh last December for a short trip and this time we decided to stay in Seemson Hotel.

Seemsoon Hotel is located in Ipoh, Perak. We stayed in a superior room consist of two single beds. The room comes with Astro & local channels, 32" LCD TV, fully air-conditioned, free wifi connections (slow internet connection), free parking for in-house guest, complimentary 2 buffet breakfast, coffee & tea making facilities, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water, bathroom with hot/cold shower & build in hair dryer.

The room was clean, shower with great water pressure and the staff was friendly. However there's only one lift available. During peak hours you might need to wait for the lift or you can take the stairs. I prefer to have a dry bathroom floor but seems that the bathroom curtain was unable to prevent water from flooding outside the shower area. Ended up the entire bathroom was soaking wet after a shower.

Simple buffet breakfast starts from 7am to 10am. Please be extra careful when you sit on the wooden chair. My partner fell from a broken chair and luckily he was not injured. The waiter came over, took the broken chair, replaced with a new chair and left without saying a word! We decided not to make a big fuss about this incident since nobody is hurt. However, I think the hotel staff should look into this matter seriously. What if a senior citizen fall from that broken chair?

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Room type: a) Standard quad room b) Standard double room without balcony c) Standard double room with balcony d) Dormitory - 10 person e) Camping We stayed in a standard double room without balcony. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
