Genting Skyworlds Hotel - Genting Highlands, Pahang
Genting Skyworlds Hotel is conveniently located near the Arena of Stars, making it an ideal choice for guests attending concerts and events. Our room is less than a 10-minute walk from the concert hall, allowing us to fully enjoy the live performances without worrying about transportation or long journeys. Additionally, the hotel is connected to SkyAvenue Mall via sheltered walkways, so you can reach shops, restaurants, and attractions without leaving the building.
The hotel does not offer free parking, so we parked at The Resort Hotel car park, the nearest alternative for RM 11. From there, we walked towards SkyWorlds Theme Park until we reached SkyAvenue Mall, where we took the escalator down to level 1. Certain areas still required using stairs, which could be challenging for those with large luggage. The directions along the way were unclear, so we had to figure out the route ourselves.
We arrived at Genting Skyworlds Hotel around 2.20pm and attempted to use the self check-in kiosk, but it couldn't read our IC. So, we headed to the reception desk instead. The queue was short, and the check-in process was quick. They allowed us to check in early and charged an additional RM 5 for the extra half-hour. Our room was located on the 3rd floor of the Valley Wing, which involved a long walk from the reception, and it happened to be the last room at the end of the hallway. On the bright side, the quiet surroundings at the far end made the stay more peaceful.
We stayed one night in a Quads room, which featured two comfortable queen-size beds, each with three pillows and a mini bolster. The room was spacious, included a private balcony, and had a modern design. It also came with complimentary Wi-Fi, four bottles of mineral water in the fridge, coffee or tea-making facilities, a wall-mounted hair dryer, and basic toiletries. However, there's no air conditioning, only a ceiling fan, and the TV only received local channels. The in-room safe wasn't working, so we called maintenance, and they promptly replaced it with a new one. They also checked the TV channels, but even after rescanning, the satellite channels (Astro) still didn't work. Apart from that, the room didn't have a proper working desk and chair. Instead, it had metal stools that were uncomfortable to sit on for long periods. Since we were only staying for one night, I decided to overlook these minor issues.
The room wasn't very cold at night, and it was rather bright in the morning because the blinds did not completely block out sunlight. The bathroom had no door, only a curtain, but the toilet and shower were in separate cubicles with locks. The shower was very hot with good water pressure.
The hotel offers only basic facilities, and there's no swimming pool or gym. Overall, the location is ideal for families and guests planning to explore the theme park, dine at SkyAvenue, or enjoy a show nearby.
